What people actually said
Archived data · Jul 31, 2026 – Oct 11, 2026You don't have to pay for a DEXA scan to tell you that 2600 calories is a lot for a woman at 138lbs Even on the high end of moderately active, that is a TDEE of 2000ish. Rings and watches can really overestimate your movement

You know I was pretty surprised to see this because when I upgraded to a Gen 4 from Gen 3 I decided to do a little experiment. I wore my Gen 3, and new Gen 4 at the time, and my Apple Watch Ultra all at the same time at night, just to compare things like sleep and other metrics. I did this for 30 days (i made a separate Oura account for my old Gen 3 on my work phone) and I compared the charts daily. What I was impressed with was how similar all 3 of the metrics actually were. The sleep patterns were also similar between the 3 devices, not exact down to the second of course, but quite similar in reporting. Enough that I walked away from my mini-30 day experiment wondering if it was even worth getting a Gen 4 at the time because the Gen 3 pretty much showed exactly the same info, and my Apple Watch confirmed the same info. So I am curious what they’re actually claiming here, and if anyone still has their Gen 4 rings along with their Gen 5 rings or Apple Watches or other devices, you should try …
If this becomes a class action lawsuit I won't be joining. I'm not an Oura fanboy. I own and enjoy using my Oura, but I know what I got. I was never under the impression this was a medical-grade device, but a wellness device. It has helped me develop better habits around my sleep and my stress.
That’s terrifying, glad you’re still here. Oura tracks trends over days and weeks, not acute events like a seizure. A grand mal hits in seconds, your ring isn't built to catch that kind of electrical storm. UTIs can spike your temp and resting heart rate but it’s subtle, easy for the algorithm to smooth over if your baseline is already all over the place from recovery. Hope the MRI gives you some answers.
Am I the only one that approves the walking ones. I mean yeah I WAS walking. Maybe not athletically but still lol
And once they’re public, that will be when the push for more revenue will happen. Subscription price increase? I would bet, likely.
