I think that you answered yourself, coming from sneakers to a boot like Dr Martens seems like an upgrade, which in some ways it is. But when you dwell on boots and their quality you start to realize that they are not worth the money you pay.

Go with pisa leather. Soft from the start, easy to clean, and get wonder balsam too. The smooth leather is hard to break in, IMO... Remember there is no medal for breaking in docs 😂

My daughter has wide feet, I got them for her in her most common size and they fit perfectly. Just a heads up, don't wear them the first day for a hike, or being on your feet for an errand. They have to form to your feet and it takes running a few errands to get them nice and comfortable.

Timberland. The round toe and chunky sole complements baggy jeans more.

Ehh more like late 80’s to mid 90’s. If the soles didn’t have “the original” or “Made In England” on the soles with the cross symbol being slanted then it would be closer to 70’s

Sole needs to be completely replaced, there's no gluing that back down
