Hello there. Following my amazement over “username checks out”, seems like search engines have failed you. I would suggest trying out Movenpick’s Espresso beans. The problem with fresh roasted beans is that you need the nitty gritty to get the correct taste out, or to know what to do to get the taste you want. Since your machine is automatic, and I have one of those too, you don’t benefit from specialty coffee.

Don’t. Just don’t. You’re underestimating how much of a pain you could be setting yourself up for. For starters, you’re going to need to buy a separate transformer for the power conversion. That’s going to take up more counter space and the power coming from it may be a little dirty, which sensitive electronics don’t like. The biggest problem is going to be if something goes wrong with it. Your warranty will not apply in the US. Are you going to ship it back to the UK? Don’t assume it won’t break. I’ve had to have warranty work on my Jura 3 months in, though it’s been fine for 2 years since that. There are plenty of great options in the US market. De’Longhi actually builds great machines. Bosch is essentially the US brand of Siemens, or at least owned by the same company so I would assume many of the same parts like most appliances under the same umbrella. A lot of great reviews out there on Miele as well, if you’re looking for a machine with a similar aesthetic. I’d head over to r/superautomatic and have a look at the conversations. That sub is dedicated to bean-to-cup machines.
