What people actually said
Archived data · Sep 2, 2026 – Sep 6, 2026It’s not perfect by any stretch but this kind of thing is why the NHS is so important. Medical treatment should never be beholden to shareholders.
Not all Bupa coverage includes trans healthcare as it's not part of the basic packages, but more of a bolt on addition your company has to actively include. If you log onto the Bupa portal you can access the coverage documents. It can be a little confusing at first, I found the people on the helpline very helpful with this so if you are struggling to see what is and isn't covered I would suggest calling them. My company added GAC recently and it essentially boils down to: Face hair removal, top and bottom surgery for MTF and FTM, one appointment to discuss hormones and a session with a gender psych for a diagnosis. Ongoing prescriptions and follow on appointments to check HRT levels aren't included. Because it doesn't cover the medications I've not rushed to get onto their waiting lists, but I am keen to get the diagnosis sorted asap at least. However, and this is the thing I need to look into more, there is likely more chance your local NHS GP will be willing to fill prescriptions for someone within Bupa then the likes of GenderGP (and similar). My other half recently got medication (not hrt) from …
Extras is only worth it if you're going to use them. I've had a lot of dental work in the last two years, so it worked out well for me. >I've been with them since 2021 You should be comparing your health insurance more frequently not only for the premium, but also based on your changing needs. I churn at least twice yearly to chase sign up bonuses/cashback/visa cards and X free weeks. AHM is great, their extras reset every July. Others at start of year. Use that to your advantage.
After 6 more months the policy meets the moratorium threshold. which means the insurer cannot reject claims citing non disclosure. (or anything other than provable fraud which is not easy). after 5y it's a robust policy. Though porting will technically preserve that seniority, from real-world cases porting introduces a lot of friction and underwriting checks and such. if your disclosure is transparent and clean, it's a good idea to continue with Niva Bupa through 5y+. Claims are individual instances. one claim incident indicates nothing about another person's case. Assess your policy from itself - ie: you disclosed everything, everything is noted correctly, you ensured continuity, you read and understood clauses and conditions clearly, the sum is adequate, nearby hospitals are covered etc.
Scammers aaj kal account transfer nahi karte. They pay bills/recharge or do online or pos transactions for someone else maybe for a discounted price in exchange for cash. That way the trail becomes longer and jiska bhi payment hua hai is unaware that it was done like this. e.g. Scammer or someone scammer knows owns a small recharge shop where they do micro atm, online bill payment, ticket booking, insurance payment etc. since nowadays all these facilities are available on various registered portals. Like a seva kendra. Customer comes to the shop to pay the bill, or do a recharge or pay emi. Owner takes cash from customer (often at a discount), completes their online payment using stolen credit/debit cards with otp because the victim phones have been compromised (hacked via WhatsApp screensharing or sms forwarding or something. So that is why the beneficiaries of unauthorised transactionsareb various billers. This has become common. You may have received some sms or whatsApp or call where you were tricked to somehow give access to your phone, and then they have erased any traces.
