Atlassian Jira

how the hell are you twenty years in the domain and dont understand the scope, audience and use case for Jira?

I work in a regulated industry and we do have a requirement that all company data should be stored in EU at a minimum. This does get audited so if Jira did not have EU as an option, we would not be able to use it. So yes, it is important, I have no choice but to care but Atlassians data residency options have been sufficient for our requirements.

I don't know Jira, but yes, most software is aimed at pleasing management. They pay for Jira, not you ...

We use a Siem that ingests all our logs. Is it required for soc2 or iso27001? Don’t think so, but for our own records and monitoring.

Disclosure again: I’m the person building Cascade. If anyone wants to test the current version while answering, here’s the Chrome Web Store link: [https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/cascade-for-jira/fjmoolgncjkbnjdecpjpikjeambkihfg?utm\_source=reddit&utm\_medium=community&utm\_campaign=cascade\_validation\_sep\_2026&utm\_content=r\_atlassian\_full\_product\_video](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/cascade-for-jira/fjmoolgncjkbnjdecpjpikjeambkihfg?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=community&utm_campaign=cascade_validation_sep_2026&utm_content=r_atlassian_full_product_video) What I’m most interested in is what remains useful after a real week in Jira, not which part looks best in a polished demo.
