We have allowed the growth of "Private Contactors" the into too many aspects of our life. Amazon and other companies insulating their profits and responsibilities with increasingly smaller contactors. They guy in the bike that's says Amazon on his bag doesn't get a check from Amazon. Too much insulation and not enough accountability for those really making the money

They know those roads are ridiculous, thats why they are sending flex drivers instead of beating up their own vans. Thats the whole reason flex exists.

If you code for fun, you're probably more qualified than the average person who actually gets a related job. Definitely more so than me! I'm still in the "I haven't given up" phase. I've been living around the poverty line for quite a few years now, so if I'm destined to be broke, I might as well be delusional and keep at it. As I am now, though, I am pretty cooked lol. If I fail after this undergraduate degree, I'll probably go for a graduate one. If I fail that too, maybe I'll become a lab tech and see if gaining research experience is possible. Might be pretty hard to get my foot into that too lol.

Did the painters take the house numbers down and just never put them back up properly? My parents had something similar happen after a reno, the numbers were on crooked and in a weird spot for months til I noticed and fixed it. Drivers were guessing which house was which
